From Lab to Application: MAGISNAT Introduces New Biotech Tools at Atlanta Tech Park

Peachtree Corners, GA – May 14, 2025 – As part of its first year of activity, MAGISNAT OMICS LLC presented a series of patented technologies at Atlanta Tech Park in Peachtree Corners, GA. The event centered on how omics data and computational biology can be applied to address specific health and lifestyle issues.

Dr. Pietro Chiurazzi opened the afternoon by framing the event within MAGISNAT’s ongoing effort to contribute to personalized prevention. Attendees heard from Atlanta Tech Park’s leadership, including Robin Bienfait and Nashlee Young, along with Bertrand Lapoire (City of Peachtree Corners) and Nick Masino (Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce), who underlined the relevance of biotech ventures to regional development.

The scientific presentations included a range of approaches. Dr. Kristjana Dhuli presented a platform using breath analysis and mass spectrometry to detect inflammation due to air pollutants. Dr. Kevin Donato (CEO of MAGISNAT) introduced a patent involving intranasal delivery of amino acids for neuromodulating appetite. Dr. Cecilia Micheletti explained how post-translational protein modifications can reveal dietary stress, while Dr. Alessandro Macchia discussed the algorithms developed in-house to support genetic data interpretation. Dr. Jurgen Kaftalli detailed a therapeutic project targeting a metabolic enzyme linked to lipedema, AKR1C1 and AKR1C2.

Further remarks came from Dr. Stephen Thadeus Connelly (MAGISNAT Co-Founder and University of California San Francisco) and Dr. Vishnu Suppiramaniam (Kennesaw State University), both underscoring the importance of collaboration between academia and biotech startups. MAGISNAT President Dr. Matteo Bertelli closed the session by highlighting the goal of each project: to provide useful data and practical applications that may support both clinical and wellness pathways.
